The first reveal of one of the interviews for the New York Community Choir book!
I’ll keep this short and to the point—-because I want ya’ll to watch this less-than-four-minute video!
Produced my friend Odu Adamu, this short utilizes audio from my interview with Arthur Freeman, co-founder of the New York Community Choir, and lyricist of their crossover disco hit “Express Yourself.” Odu has brilliantly paired the audio with historical footage from the era along with footage of Arthur, Benny Diggs (also co-founder and director of NYCC) and the choir. So buckle up, kids!
