Robert Bailey was THE artist that really presented the christian contemporary music to the Scandinavian contries and Europe. Yes, there was Andrea Crouch and family Hawkins, but Robert reached every one on every seat in the churches and concert halls by his own songs, or as the director of several gospelchoirs that he helped there, by giving them lessons in the real touch of a soulfull message - for someone called gospel music. My husband and I hosted Bob in our Michigan home back in the early 80's. I am sad to read of the struggles he has endured through his life. My family has often wondered what happened to Bob. He has so much talent that truly reaches the heart. I too was hurt by those in a church, but I realize in the church building or out of it, there will always be those who are missing what the church is. I hope to hear more upcoming music from Bob Bailey; I am confident God has another open door!
I am so glad to be introduced to Bob Bailey's music and to hear his story--another story of heartbreak, integrity, originality and endurance. I was wondering why the producer of his first album reneged on releasing it (except for fulfilling pre-orders). And what happened at PTL. Maybe these are stories that are too sensitive to go into publicly? Anyway, his story and his music touch me. Thank you for presenting his life and gifts so eloquently.
